SONS OF THE WOLF

A Bronte-saurian novel and if you remember The Master of Blacktower (1966), nobody in the business plots the gothic novel with more abandon than Miss Michaels (whom one suspects is really taking it off). To the manor not born but transplanted are Harriet and Ada, orphans, cousins, as wards of Mr. Wolfson called Wolf for short. And for real. He also keeps dogs, Loki and Fenris, who act like wolves--and then there are his sons of... graceful Julian, who finds life at the manor dull although it's hard to imagine why--and Francis, saturnine. Ada, with more brains under her blonde curls than one might suspect, takes to the moors with the stableman, while Harriet is left to fend off father, sons and dogs.... Egads, gadzooks, this is witless but ladies will enjoy taking leave of their senses.
