TO LOVE IS TO BE HAPPY WITH

Kaufman, author of Son-Rise, about his experience with his own autistic child, (1976), now gives details of something called the ""Option Process."" ""THERE ARE NO GOOD OR BAD BELIEFS, NO GOOD OR BAD BEHAVIORS OR FEELINGS. . . . It is a question of WHAT WE LEARNED (AND NOW BELIEVE) AND WHAT WE WANT TO DO about what we learned (AND STILL BELIEVE). In that process, EACH OF US IS OUR OWN EXPERT, regardless of who asks the questions."" The theory: if you ask questions like, ""What is it that makes you unhappy about that,"" the ""that"" will clear up. Kaufman's ""thats"" are things that worry most of us--sex, money, raising children--and he shows us how to ask questions about each of those things. Mundane stuff. But WHY IS HE ALWAYS SHOUTING AT US IN CAPITAL LETTERS? Does he think we can't hear him?
