This is a honey -- I loved it. Tops for the Ditmars market, without the scientific slant. Story of the San Diego Zoo, told by the woman who runs it, and chockful of first rate anecdotes about animals, about the machinery of running a zoo, getting the animals, planning the buildings, care of the animals, etc. Stories of the people who come to the zoo, of what they might learn and don't. Zoo construction. Zoo hospital. The friendly gorillas. Background material on building up a new zoo. It is very entertaining; people who like animal stories will like it; people who like odd bits of human interest will like it. Good sale for the Coast. Plus sale -- juvenile.
