ADMISSION TO AMERICAN COLLEGES

For educational field largely, but a useful survey of the policies and practices which colleges today employ in the selection of students for admission which should interest those inquiring into the subject. A study based on college by college poll; the importance of the scholastic record; entrance requirements and examinations; personality factors; the type of high school program preferred; the place of extra curricular activities; the overall picture of who should go to college. With overcrowding today, there is a differential between theory and practice, pointing to need of expansion on a democratic plane.
