ISRAEL DIARY

The rather personal and at all times approving diary of a Canadian who spent some six weeks in Israel, in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, with trips to the British-controlled Aqaba on the Red Sea and to the Sea of Galiles. This is a scattered commentary on hotels; on the food -- and the food scarcity; on religious services attended- as well as a session of the young parliament; visits to the kibbutzim; the British and the Arabs; and the amazing accomplishment of the Jews, the beauty and the vitality of their new country. A slight, and often sentimentally slanted, testimonial, there have already been other better books on Palestine which this will not displace.
