How all the Gradys are involved in the murder of Hank Grueber when Frank Grady's gun is used to commit the crime, but particularly three of his stepchildren- Peggy and Maureen who had been seen out with him, Donald who had worked in the same firm. With the arrest of Donald, it is the girls' real father who undertakes his defense and elicits the confidence and the confession of one of his daughters. The Gradys who neither live, speak nor act very graciously do not improve the atmosphere here which is drab, dull too.
