GRIZZLY BEAR

Carrick bathes Baby Bear's surroundings in a blue and gold haze, and Freschet brings us into instant contact with the sights, sounds, and smells of his young world. Though Baby Bear is now and then a bit too human--as when, after a narrow escape from a dangerous male, he ""practiced climbing a tree every day""--his infant bumblings are described with real affection and intimacy.
