In another story of Willow Hill, the authors describe the life of a baby chipmunk and the things he must learn. Fascinated by the constant change in nature, the little animal scrutinizes everything about him, animals, trees, their changing habitats. And Chip listens, too, to the friendly sound of a frog and to the dangerous sounds of a cat rustling through the grass. And finally Chip learns that there are people in his world and that they also must listen and watch, that they too, are subject to the perpetual changes of the growing world about them.
