RUN SHEEP RUN

Judy Cannon, an attractive high school junior, finds it expedient to follow the herd in its pleasant west coast existence. But when her mother is taken gravely ill, Judy is forced into serious self examination. Her intense interest in marine biology has set her apart from her social minded friends and even from Tim, her ""steady"" beau. Torn by conflict, Judy finally veers toward honest self expression, and finds to her great satisfaction that her position is strengthened by her own resolve. The question of conformity, basic to all young people, is a welcome theme for a teen age novel, but it is somewhat regrettable that so much of the potency of this book's theme is obscured by impossibly pat solutions. A book which sets out to prove that you can't have your cake and eat it, somehow ends up demonstrating that perhaps, after all, you can.
