A SEARCH FOR A SELF

A woman discusses the working philosophy she has evolved from a desire to be with people and yet have a private self, from experiences she has had which will influence the experiences of the future, and from the wish to clarify her inner confusions. She covers various aspects of social intercourse, family, marriage, daily contacts, and in reviewing her own experiences and those of others, she shows how best to meet life and the problems it presents. An honest effort to show how she has worked out her own salvation and the result is a better book than Your Life As A Woman by Margaret Devereux (Random House), page 328,--for she demands a following through mental process from the reader, not a facile program. Interesting -- personal -- and at the same time meaty reading, particularly for women.
