THE SHIP AGROUND: A Tale of Adventure

Excellent adventure yarn in the best Treasure Island tradition, in which young Barty, whose uncle keeps The Ship Aground Inn, in Wapping (late 18th century), is shanghalled aboard the Rose in Bloom, where he achieves his ambition to go to sea. He befriends an old sailor, is given the secret of a pirate hoard, a secret which puts him in constant danger. Mutiny -- the ship burns -- the crew escape to rocky island in the South Pacific, where Barty escapes his enemies and solves the secret of the treasure. Good suspense, action, and styled to the period.
