HOW TO PLAN A RURAL CHURCH PROGRAM

Every Protestant minister serving a rural field should have this book and turn to it for guidance early and often. It is a careful analysis of the state of our rural areas and of the function of the church therein. It proceeds on the assumption that the program of a rural church should be based on a thorough-going study of the community, its cultural background, its present economic condition and the current and anticipated population trends. Definite guidance is offered for the conduct of such a study and for an appraisal of the church or churches functioning in the program. Based on such a study, suggestions are made for the formulation of a church program, including the basic necessities for the operation of the Larger Parish plan either on a denominational or inter-denominational level. To be pushed among rural ministers, present or prospective, particularly in the mid-West.
