Primarily a book intended for High School Home Economics students, but there is so much sound commonsense basic information on a topic in which many women are interested today (in contrast to years past) that it should have a wider market. Standard in its field, it has been completely revised to bring it up to the moment, with date of particular value for the present, when shortages in goods -- and changes in quality -- make selection, care and repair vital. Two thirds of the how-to-do and background text deals with High School age dress design, sewing, fashions and fads, use of patterns, accessories in dress, problems of good taste, etc. The balance deals with clothes for younger children, with care of household fabrics, and so on. Appendix on knitting.
