MOON MOTH

The luna is one of the most beautiful moths and has an instant fascination that makes it a good choice as an example of the life cycle of the insect. The female model used here is taken step by step from her emergence out of the chrysalis to the time that she lays her eggs and then dies, leaving her offspring to hatch and become caterpillars. There is some unnecessary author-inserted enthusiasm, but otherwise the text is quite frank and factual about the development of the luna.
