BARNEY BIPPLE'S MAGIC DANDELIONS

When six-year-old Barney finds a diamond for the old woman next door, she rewards him with magic dandelions--just blow on them and wish. Ignoring her advice to wish only for ""simple things,"" Barney ends up at the police station as an indirect result of his wishes to be eight-years-old, to own a car, and to be able to converse with his dog. But he has only to call in the old lady to make things right again, and thereafter Barney only wishes for simple things--like ""a bike. . . , a radio. . . , a baby brother. . . , a pony--and stuff like that."" Kellogg's vitality keeps this in motion, but it's a flimsy sort of vehicle, going no-where.
