THE PENNY PINCHER'S BOOK OF FINE FOOD

With a brief word or two--perhaps too brief--about penny pinching on the shopping cart circuit, the author launches into some pleasant recipes, although this may not be for the inexperienced. (Boiling a chicken for two hours, no matter what is spicing away in the pot, just may produce savory soup or possibly a cauldron of lubricating grease.) Although the beef cuts used are not the most expensive, in general this is not really an odds-and-ends cookbook, but the selective marketing emphasis is just not developed sufficiently. No matter--the recipes are fresh and tempting. For pinched tummies rather than pinched purses.
