SOMETHING MORE

Catherine Marshall's eleventh book relates the influence of her religious quest in her life and in the lives of her family and friends. Her writing is a kind of ministry in itself. But none of it is abstract. She writes with immediacy of her joys and sorrows, of prayers answered directly or answered in unexpected ways and of many instances which recall the adage, ""God writes straight with crooked lines."" She tells of her difficulties as a widow, as stepmother, along with the deaths of two grandchildren, and her own ill health. And throughout, drawing on her deep knowledge of the Bible, she shows how her faith sustained her. If Mrs. Marshall does not always convince, she does regenerate and for some that may be enough.
