A Little Golden Book reissue. The illustrations by Gustaf Tenggren are charming but the text is crowded, rather bewildering, full of unfamiliar animals and incidents. A shy little kitten has adventures away from home with a mole, a snake, a frog, a puppy and a red squirrel; there is a picnic, and an unexpected ducking, which are not calculated to reassure any shy little kittens at home.
