But the train of events is skillfully and realistically plotted and draws the reader to the unexpected end. The drug SP47 is discovered in England and although the social ramifications are recognized and secrecy made paramount, the Lords and their Ladies use some very unaristocratic methods to get hold of it and the rush is on. ""Juvenex"" makes the older generations ""distressingly fertile"" and the ""pestilence of procreation"" spreads. But this is just one aspect of a complex plot that has a double reverse Hitchcockish ending. A fresh approach to an old dilemma.
