Thirty-year-old Harry Allen is a disenchanted, miserably married San Francisco structural engineer turned on by subways and blackjack. Having devised a perfect system (21, not rapid transit) on the day of JFK's assassination, he plans his escape for the next ten years. Faking his suicide, he becomes Harold Reiss, goes to Vegas and wins $500,000 within five weeks. He and his divorcee paramour Amy Kessler are later bound for New York when they're hijacked (by the United Palestinian Front) and deposited in Israel (where Amy was just about to relocate). Craps anyone?
