Mr. Kramer is a medical malpractice suit lawyer, and as he shows here in a series of cautionary tales from his casebook, there's many a slip 'twixt the knife and the hip--particularly in the case of a little girl when they performed the procedure on the wrong side. Or the hospital's carelessness in not having any blood in the bank so that a woman died. Or the fact that nobody cared when a newly delivered mother of twins hemorrhaged to death unattended. Most of the accounts, with considerable transcripts of the later courtroom cases, do deal with surgical errors and they have been assembled to forewarn the reader against professional togetherness and to enable him to determine when he may well have legal redress. None of the aggressive animus say of Martin Gross' The Doctors but also very little to supplement this beyond this lawyer's own trial experience to make this ""comprehensive""--the publishers Oust one figure--the 1962 Trussell report) or to further a readership redirect.
