Wisher is a tortoise shell cat. And like many other young animals, he has not quite developed a sense of himself. Consequently, Wisher spends entirely too much time worrying and wishing that he were something else--a butterfly, a fish, anything but a cat. Wisher's dream turns into a nightmare when he imagines himself a fish, and after an agonizing night, he awakes delighted to be just an ordinary cat.
