COWBOY CHARLEY, 4-H CHAMP

A healthy story of a healthy year on a California cattle and farm ranch. Industrious, born-to-be-a-rancher Charley, makes plans for the project of his senior 4-H year and buys a young Hereford bull of good breeding from Mr. Hawthorne who owns a neighboring ranch. From purchase time to the county fair when he gets top honors in his class, besides winning an inter-group contest with the Future Farmers of America, Charley works hard, learns more about cattle, joshes his sister Betsey who thinks she wants city life but really doesn't plays with the kids- Mary Hawthorne and newcomer Bob who's from the East and teaches him a bit about the outside world in return for cowboy knowhow. Safe, sane, salubrious and sagacious and strictly for 4-Hers.
