A DRAM OF POISON

An ingenious chase -- for poison in an olive oil bottle -- is built around a marriage threatened by a dominating woman and collects a growing company while they hunt for the missing bottle, to argue the husband and wife back into mutual trust. Ken Gibson intended to suicide but, losing the poison, alerted the police while his young wife, Rosemary, started in with the bus driver to help them find the lethal little container. He led them to a nurse, a do-gooder and an artist and their cumulative memories returned them to the Gibson's neighbors, and right into the Gibson's house where Ken's sister, the cause of all the trouble, was about to become a mass poisoner because of the cleaning woman who had been fired that day. If you are in the mood of a hare and hounds with a cast of Robert Nathan characters that put a fantasy twist around ordinary happenings, this is OK. If you like your suspense straighter, nope.
