A hopefully constructive book about a helplessly depressing subject takes up the ways in which ""parents can help"" their children to ""cope with their thoughts about nuclear danger."" One need not be a parent to realize how difficult if necessary a task it is to ""support a basic sense of reason and dignity in human affairs"" in this context. Included here, in addition to the opening essays which confront the psychological factors directly are: the text of a radio interview with children on the subject of atom raid drills: a speech by the former Director General of WHO, opposing views of church leaders on fallout shelters; federal radiation reports; comments on same by Donald Keys of SANE; and in the appendices, the text of the Test Ban Treaty, a chronology of atomic explosions through July, 1963, and a really first-rate bibliography covering the entire field of inquiry. An excellent handbook.
