There's an oll similarity of mood and story between this and The Little House by Christine Crowell (see page 336). Again a first rate family story, the best Mrs. Govan has done since The Plummer Children; again a not-too-successful writer father; again one of the children instrumental in selling an unpremeditated book. There's a mystery element in this -- the story rambles more over scattered incidents -- a good yarn, told with real understanding of children and humor.
