Everything careens slightly out of key in this thriller about technological homicide. Scientist James Fulbright finds himself ruined, terrorized and trapped. Why did his wife turn on him? What do his fellow scientists hold against him? The only clue lies in an enigmatic statement he made to his psychiatrist: ""I don't know; it hasn't happened yet."" But the pattern emerges when he learns about the secret experiments involving relativity and time and ""the egg-shaped thing."" This is actually a harsh rejoinder to Hiroshima and makes pertinent points about the responsibility of our men of science. As in the author's previous books there's lots of sophisticated action. Set in '67 and there's a discomfiting reason. For an older, oriented Sci-Fi audience.
