by Clara Ingram Judson ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 15, 1941
I don't think it quite as good as the author's Paul Revere, perhaps because Stephenson's life was less dramatic and more consistently bound up in his work. The concentration is on his boyhood and youth, on life in mining towns, and on the steps by which he acquired the knowledge and the skill and the inspiration which eventually resulted in the first successful locomotive. 18th century setting in England. Decorative drawings are very successful: full pages seem outmoded
