LE TOUTOUNIER

A sequel to Duo, three of four unusually close sisters together again in the ""Toutounier"", a studio apartment in Paris where they had lived as young girls. Alice, the eldest, returns after the sudden and accidental death of her husband to find two of her sisters in the midst of rather unsatisfactory affairs. Colombe, the musician, in love with an orchestrator she works with -- and Hermine, determined to make her ""Monsieur Weekend"" divorce his wife and marry her. Colette is writing rather sleazy, thin stuff -- but she still has a knock for dressing it up in her highly individual, nervous, sensuous prose.
