THE HEIGHTS OF ZERVOS

Very simply -- not hard under the circumstances -- this is a World War II ack-ack-action story involving the attempt by some Germans to take a Greek peninsula, Zervos, with a monastery on top. And the almost hopelessly undermanned counter-attempt to see that they don't in which a Scot and a Greek and a couple of Englishmen collaborate. There is a sabotaged gasoline train to begin with; a rough trip, all crosscurrents and cliffs, to Zervos; and once there, the combat continues. You won't recognize anyone except for their dogtags -- it's just a steady stutter of gunfire to be read with earmuffs.
