by Corinne Griffith ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 6, 1952
A fond, to fatuous, puffballing of a year in her life with father when she was only six (she was later to become the silent picture queen) and the apple of his eye and a bystander in the events which led to a brief period of family dissolution. For Papa, a Virginian, who became economically expansive in the condition which she called delicate, and Mama abhorred, bought a yellow house (Mama liked white) and a drugstore and finally a circus in order to secure a pony and a little red cart for Corinne. And when the circus parade broke up Mama's morning musicale, Mama took the children home to her father in a moment of petulant pique- protracted through some months, left Papa to his ""onliest comfort... Southern"" until he reformed for good and all.... That wide-eyed innocence is not quite as winsome as you might think.
