TILLI

From the wrong crowd to a fresh air future. Trouble in high school leads to Tilli's exile on her godmother's farm where she finds that the ""hicks"" are human, even fun, and that helping with chores makes her feel useful for a change. But city boyfriend Larry appears and runs over country counterpart Clive's dog and Tilli returns home feeling rejected and dejected. Until she receives clearance for the State Agricultural College (where Clive is also in attendance). Inserted as the solution to a 4-H quest for a ""unique project"" is a Negro girl with a voice ""as soft and thick as chocolate syrup""--who's as handy as Tilli's own pick-me-ups.
