THE BRIDE WORE BLACK

Not in the straight mystery line, a tour de force with pretty thin underpinnings but a curiosity -- catching buildup. A socialite, a down and outer, a suburban father, and a painter are all killed by an anonymous femme fatale. With the fifth murder en route Inspector Wanger steps in and knits the crimes together. A stunt ricochet of a finish -- which doesn't quite hold water -- but it's intriguing in the novelty line.
