Ronnie Marlowe, another fictional hero of Little League baseball, appears in Curtis Bishop's new book on the subject. Wealthy Aunt Susan provided her 12 year old ward with what seemed like an enviable life. But Ronnie secretly detested his private school, his pampered condition and his loneliness. When the chance comes to try out for Little League, Ronnie grabs it and makes the team. Ronnie's decision is supported by Mr. Mitchell, Aunt Susan's fiance, but kept secret from her. Many months of hard work pay off in for Ronnie and a close friendship with lulian talented Little leaguer from Mexico. But is due, when Aunt Susan returns from her business trip to discover her nephew associating with a ""lower class welback"" and a tough sport. Because of some a camping trip, Aunt Susan's prejudice, ignorance and stubbornness vanish and all turns out well. Not even the descriptive sports passages can raise this above the level of mediocrity.
