by Cuthbert A. Simpson ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
Dr. Simpson, formerly professor of Old Testament at the General Theological Seminary in New York, and now Professor of Hebrew in the University of Oxford, has written an exhaustive study of the Book of Judges which will advance the critical appreciation of this complex Old Testament book by scholars. But the general reader who is interested in Bible study will get little help from it, for the argument as to sources and authorship goes on at a level where only the technically competent are at home. It is a great contribution to Biblical scholarship, however, and libraries and seminaries will wish to see that this weighty volume is to be found on their shelves.
