by Czenzi Ormonde ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 23, 1948
A Puget Sound variation on Mama's Bank Account genre, in the very gay, very sad episodes in the life of 9 year old Lida, of Bohemian descent. Lida makes her way through adult incomprehensibles in a childishly logical way. These include selling chances to a shady lady, staging a surprise at her aunt's wedding, taking banking lessons seriously, putting her father's restaurant on its feet, combining cooking lessons and her grandmother's property problems, making restitution to Father Sebastian etc. Definite appeal to sentiment and fun reading.
