The newly married pair desert the town which was the setting for the earlier book, and go to a smaller village, where directly ""Miss Buncle"" becomes involved in all sorts of ramifications of personalities and incident. Identified wrongly, she is shown a will which reveals strange terms involving a girl with whom her nephew falls in love. She tries to keep them apart -- goes to extreme measures -- in order that the girl may get the inheritance, but ultimately meets failure. Meantime, a book burns to come to light -- again based on her neighbors, but she is persuaded to let it lie dormant and create a child instead! It has charm, quiet-paced, very English. Sell to audience of first.
