by D. E. Stevenson ‧ RELEASE DATE: Dec. 9, 1940
This is pretty frothy stuff, but D.E. Stevenson can do her leisurely English village stories to the queen's taste. All the machinery for a good rental went into this one, -- a wry-tongued, soft-hearted old doctor, Kit, a young and personable doctor who goes into practice with him, Mardie Rochester, who lives near by and puts up with an unhappy marriage. Slender, sweet stuff, wit the fillip of a whimsical child character. And this time no attempt at timeliness.
