A PICTORIAL HISTORY OF THE SILENT SCREEN

Companion volume to Pictorial History of the American Theatre, this has perhaps an even more nostalgic appeal (but to a more sharply defined audience). Here- for those of us who remember the days of Mary Pickford, Marguerite Clark, Blanche Sweet, Lillian Gish et al, and who still think Birth of a Nation was one of the great thrills of our youth, this will prove a rich and flavorful feast. In photographs, and pungent text, the panorama is unfolded. We've seen only samples, but they are provocative.
