This gifted couple are at their best with books backgrounded in their own Norway. Here is one, with text for somewhat older children than their usual picture story book age, and with a contemporary flavor in that the story deals with Norway invaded, and the war, which gave Per his chance to learn to fly. The adventures are simplified encu to fit beginning readers, though Per and his comrades, in their daring to carry on an underground school, in their escape to England, and in his coming to America to learn to fly, would seem to suggest an older audience. I feel sure that seven and eight years ol boys who long to fly, will love it.
