ANDY CLAYBOURNE

The growing pains of a proud, sensitive youth of low birth and impoverished family and his fight to earn respect in a Colorado ranch community. Andy left home to escape the stigma of being ""one of the Claybourne boys"", was taken in by a pleasant but dishonest rancher, almost fell for the wily charms of his daughter, managed to get into more bad company and trouble, but was always saved by his own character and a ranch owner, Harwood, who had loved his mother. Despite the chip on his shoulder Andy achieves a certain success as Harwood's right-hand man and wins the rancher's favorite niece---just before the army is about to draft him. A slow-paced, ineffectual story.
