The Seabury material is written with a good popular formula as basis and he manages to put over some scientific truths and sound common sense. The purpose of this book is to lay down the principles for self-analysis and self treatment. The first half analyses bases of instability and emotional disorders and neuroticism, while the second half goes into matters of mental medicine and how to apply it. Nothing dangerous in dabbling with unfamiliar scientific truths -- he keeps to readily understandable and sound facts. Constructive, though occasionally inclined to be a bit Pollyannaish.
