GOD IS INESCAPABLE

A popular writer again shares his thinking about God in a book designed to the consciousness of the presence and power of God who is truly transcendent but also imminent, the past, present, and future, the origin and sustainer of life, the one who is inescapable and with whom every man must seek and find an encounter after with and breaking through the tyranny of our man-made Gods. Dr. David Soper, already well-known by his other books, among them The Spirit is Willing, Highway to aith, Major Voices in American Theology, has a direct way of writing that commands attention. He intends to be provoking and hard hitting, striving for the unforgettable rase even if he has to use the quip, slang, or wisecrack. He may therefore put off ny who would deal with subjects as sacred and profound in language more majestic, but reader would say that he is lacking in reverence; and if it commands the attention of to whom this way of writing is more appealing, who shall say that these words are of The Word.
