by Denis Roche ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 1, 1998
Roche (Loo-Loo, Boo and Art You Can Do, 1996) takes her artistic talents on the road, exploring crafts from around the world. In bright little cartoons, Loo-Loo and her pup, Boo, explain step-by-step how to do batik from Java, shadow puppets from Bali, burial masks from Peru, weavings from Mexico, Viking helmets fron Norway (complete with nose guards), and more. While all the crafts use household materials and common art supplies, and do not involve great expense, some will have more satisfying results than others--the stained glass from France is grand, the mosaic from Italy tends toward sogginess. Still, the book will be utterly welcome with teachers and young artists alike, and fans of the first book will be in awe of this encore.
