Zorro, the master swordsman, has been resurrected for a new generation of readers, who've probably never heard of the masked man ""sworn to uphold justice and defend the California territory."" In this tale, Zorro (the secret disguise of wealthy gentleman Don Diego Vega) challenges a band of renegade pirates who have raided the town of Reina de los Angeles and have stolen his (Diego's) fiancÉe, the beautiful Lolita Pulido (who's ironically in love with Zorro, not Diego). Zorro (""The Fox"") has at least nine lives, miraculously escaping from various imprisonments, confinement in a straitjacket and even a walk down the plank. It's an adventure that doesn't let up; action and plotting are swift, swords flash furiously. After all these years, there's plenty of swash left in Zorro's buckle. Welcome back.
