TAFFY'S TIPS TO TEENS

Dolly Martin has a syndicated newspaper column and is the teenage fashion director at the World's Fair. Once you get past her opening chapter in which she sounds more like Dale Carnegie than Ann Landers (""How to discover your hidden talent, make new friends, set a new record for yourself""), and over the hurdle of deciding how to type yourself (are you a pixle type, the outdoor girl, the quiet conservative, or maybe even queenly) there is little to which even adults or youngsters can take exception. In fact she has a lot of valid points to make about wardrobe in terms of coloring and shape; about accessories (why hats?), and on to the essentials of grooming, diet (nutrition wise), telephone and table manners and conduct in general, exercise, friends, dates, parties. Teen-agers will probably prefer to take it from her rather than their parents and this covers many of their problems, inside and out.
