Pete and Joe find content in their hunting lodge in the far north, until Marty, Pete's ex-wife comes into the picture, with her new husband, they four are snowbound, and there are fireworks. Murder -- suspicion -- partings -- and eventually, when Pete finds out the truth, he keeps Joe in ignorance to save their newly knit friendship. Love and hate and passion -- hard-boiled.
