LAST YEAR'S SNOW

A bit on the Peter B. Kyne plus James Oliver Curwood, with drugstore rental possibilities, but not much above that level. Pete and Joe find content in their hunting lodge in the far north, until Marty, Pete's ex-wife comes into the picture, with her new husband, they four are snowbound, and there are fireworks. Murder -- suspicion -- partings -- and eventually, when Pete finds out the truth, he keeps Joe in ignorance to save their newly knit friendship. Love and hate and passion -- hard-boiled.
