Mrs. Wilson gives the same breathless attention to nonagenarian ""Doc"" Pritham of Greenville, Maine, she has devoted to other big world (internationally known humanitarians) and little world (just folks) subjects. Again Mrs. Wilson records anecdotes, exhumed conversations and cerebrations from years ago, and accomplishments. ""Doc"" Pritham began his practice in Greenville in 1906 serving a far-flung community. Indefatigable, doughty and no-nonsense, Doc traveled to his patients at all hours by handcar, snowshoes, horseback, boat and, best of all, ""snowmobile"" (a Ford Model T coupe with caterpillar treads). Doc has contributed some lively songs and legends and there are some chatty medical notes which might surprise the unwary reader: He found ""a suppurated gall bladder so filled with pus that its walls were like wet newspaper."" Dr. Pritham -- like Mrs. Wilson -- is still practicing and bringing cheer.
