This slim but handsome collection of reproductions is based on miniatures from the medieval manuscripts in the Baden State Library, Karlsruhe, West Germany. The eight tipped-in full color reproductions, printed in Germany, recapture the bright gold leaf, light green, radiant blues and brilliant reds of these ""jewels of Christian art"" which enriched the illuminated manuscripts. The pictures selected are concerned with events in the life of the Virgin Mary. Appropriate poems and identifications of each illustration enhance each reproduction. An excellent example of book making, Miniatures Of The Life Of Our Lady will also prove to be the source of an unusual and beautiful Marian meditation.
