A NUMBER OF PEOPLE

Thoroughly pleasant reminiscences of a happy life, touching often on the worlds of the great, the theater, literature and painting, filled with utterly British anecdotes and stories and famous names: Maurice Baring, Winston Churchill, Lord Elgin, Max Deerbohm, Asquith, D. H. Lawrence, T. E. Shaw, Ivor Novello, etc. etc. It's crammed with smooth writing, often amusing and nice like honey. These Englishmen can do this sort of thing so well.
